General Description: The addition of glass fibre to polyketone leads to very significant increases in strength, stiffness, heat distortion temperatures, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability, though properties can be anisotropic - including mould shrinkage, leading to potential distortion. Impact strength is not so straight forward as unnotched samples are more brittle, whereas notched samples see an increase compared to unfilled material. However, elongation to break is, as usual, reduced very substantially. Glass-reinforced polyketone is commonly coloured black.

Applications may include engineering components such as "under-bonnet" automobile parts, electrical housings and connectors.
